Vanilla Twist

We had to create a number of designs for this project.  Firstly I went about creating pages of water colour roughs (or in my case, watered-gouche), first doing one without any prior knowledge.

I tried to stick to a limited palette to challenge myself, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for, so I skimmed into a bit of research about cake toppings and decorations.

I managed to form a better basis of what I was looking for and did a few more painted roughs.  However I hated it after that.

I went about and compiled all of the sketches together.  It ended up looking like fancy groceries.

I went searching again for more resources as inspiration, this time looking deeper into the "Vanilla Twist" name.

Thankfully, this time around I was able to take some inspiration out of what I found and started on sketches again.

I found more of what I was looking for in the vanilla orchid, and the designs in the soap, and decided to make it the basis of my design.

I finished by compiling the unfinished design, a mixture of minimalism and detailed sketching to get my final product.
